Conditions of use : Dishwasher safe with this décor the colours are melted into the glaze at 1000 degrees c. Here the glaze softens and the décor sinks into it, thus making colour and luminosity indestructible. It is scratch- and wear-resistant. However, gold decors are not totally scratch resistant by virtue of their natural material properties. This décor was tested by the Rosenthal institute for material technology (iwt). It is dishwasher safe.

Concentration on the essentials marks the set suomi by the finn timo sarpaneva. With the design of the compact, organic form from the year 1976, timo sarpaneva was inspired by the round, smooth pebbles from the coast of finland. Suomi with its flawless perfection is scandinavian purism for design fans. The combination of white porcelain and metal gives suomi its special character. The individual parts of this collection were reduced to the basic necessities, therefore the parts are multifunctional. For the design of suomi timo sarpaneva received the gold medal of faenza, the highest award in the world of the porcelain. Today suomi is one of the most successful sets of the Rosenthal studio-line.

Since the 1950s timo sarpaneva, painter, graphic designer and designer, had been one of the most important representatives of scandinavian arts and crafts. Next to designs for the daily use he dealed with the artistic possibilities of glass - freed from the limitations of functional design - as a medium for the sculptor. Sarpaneva had been working for Rosenthal since 1968. His table-service "suomi" is one of the most successful porcelain forms worldwide, the ceramics table-service "kaari" was another highlight of the Rosenthal product range.
